Abstract
Electrodeposition (ED) of Mn, Co and Zn at ppm levels (mg/litre of the solution) are studied extensively in order to improve their deposition efficiencies. New electrolytes have been developed to deposit 65 Zn with 5 μg inactive Zn carrier, 54Mn without addition of inactive carrier and 60Co with 10 μg inactive Co carrier on 25 mm dia. stainless steel (SS) planchets. Operating paramters are evaluated to deposit all above metals with > 85% efficiency. The metallic states on the deposited surfaces are confirmed by ESCA.
