Abstract

The introduction of the internet-based interactive telelaboratory paradigm in different chemical engineering courses, using LabVIEW and Visual Basic software, is discussed. The software interface is a Microsoft Windows platform software and is developed in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 with ActiveX Control and ActiveX DLL design. The students are guided through the steps of the remote experiments by a speaking genie video help systems. Genie provides an extensive and interactive help and a fun operation, and appears automatically whenever a situation of evident need of help is detected.
